FAQs

Do you take insurance?

Yes, I take Blue Cross and Blue Shield of IL. Please contact your insurance provider directly for your co-pay/deductible amount before scheduling.

What can I expect from a session?

If you are billing insurance, sessions range from 45-60 minutes long. If you required alternative sessions separate from insurance, we will manage alternative sessions as needed. Sometimes this is the case with specialized areas of focus or acute additional needs for support.

Theresa Joyce PLLC does not provide assessment and documentation requested by employers or government agencies. Theresa Joyce PLLC does not participate or provide opinion in any custody arrangements or any other individual/family court matters.

Is there parking accessible?

Designated parking is available to the left side of the building with a parking garage directly across the street.

What happens during the first session?

The initial session is the time for you to start to share your story, talk about your goals and what you would like to change. Together we explore the foundational elements from your life experiences. We will start to identify where you are at, areas of focus and more development to come.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require 24 business hours notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.

Are there any issues or types of clients that you DON’T work with?

I only work with adults aged 18+. I do not conduct child custody evaluations nor do I  provide custody recommendations. I also don’t provide treatment for eating disorders, psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, etc), or personality disorders.

If at anytime during our work together an issue is presented that is out of my scope of practice the therapeutic relationship will be reviewed, re-evaluated and referred for a transferring services to an appropriate provider.
